Holiday Fun for Families
WelCare's holiday programme offers a wide range of interesting activities and outings for parents and children. Families can be sure of a warm welcome and joining the programme is a great way to make new friends.
All our activities are arranged for family groups. We support parents to make suitable choices for their families and get the best from the limited budget to entertain the family.
Activity details and Practical things you need to know
Activities are subsidised and this helps to reduce the financial burden many families face especially during holidays.
We often have more than one activity per day and some of these are organised for specific age groups.
Project staff plan routes and accompany all groups.
Parents are encouraged to use the most economical travel rates.
Who is the Programme best suited to?
Our programme is ideal for isolated or nervous parents and carers struggling to entertain little ones throughout the holidays.
Project staff are always on hand to help with children, engage in parenting discussions and encourage peer support.
Priority will always be given to isolated and vulnerable Kingston families.
These are best made by parents or carers on behalf of their families a couple of weeks before the activity is due to take place.
We feel this is best done in person where you can visit WelCare, meet with our workers, and discuss what an activity will involve.
This is a very popular programme and many activities and outings are often oversubscribed. Expression of interest from families new to WelCare is best done well ahead of each holiday, so you have time to register and get to know us.
WelCare's holiday programme runs for eight weeks of Kingston's school holidays.
- 4 weeks in summer
- 6 days at Easter
- 3 days each half term week Feb/June/October
